How do I make a booking?

- On our website at www.moonshadowtours.com

• You should follow these instructions:

  1. Select the date you want in the calendar that appears on the booking page;

  2. Fill in the booking form:

     • Your details (Name, e-mail and telephone contact);

     • The name of the tour or ID, as it appears on our page;

     • The number of people, including children and/or teenagers;

     • The pick-up location within the Lisbon area (if applicable);

  3. Once your request has been received, an e-mail will be sent to you confirming your booking, as well as your payment details;

  4. If your group is larger than 8 people, please use the form on the Contacts Page.

  5. Please read our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cancellation Policy before booking;

How do I pay?

How do we meet the driver/guide after arriving at the railway station?
At Portela de Sintra railway station you will be met by the driver/guide, with his name written on a sign.

 

What is included in a tour?
For each tour, there is a detailed description of what is and isn't included. However, if you would like to include any experiences or activities, please let us know. Please note that this may increase the final price of the tour.

Are tips included, and if not, how much should I leave?
Although not obligatory, tipping is expected and is an expression of your satisfaction with the people who have helped you throughout your tour. Although it may not be customary for you, it has considerable significance for the people who will be helping you during your travels. 
At the end of your tour, if you felt that your guide did an outstanding job, tipping is appreciated. The amount is entirely a client preference, however, as a guideline around 20-25 EUR/USD can be used.

 

Are there discounts for groups?
If you book directly with us, and if the group is larger than 8 people, we can give you special attention!

 

Does the company provide child seats or baby seats?
 - Yes, subject to availability and free of charge. When booking, please quote.

​Does the price of the tours include insurance?

We are fully insured, with insurance cover:
- civil liability
- personal accident

 

 

I want a private tour. What do I need to do?
You've come to the right place! All our tours are private: just you, your friends and/or family and the guide. Please note that any tour is only organised with a minimum of two people.

 

What is the advantage of choosing a private tour with MoonShadow Tours?
Our tours are thoughtfully designed to help you experience Portugal at its best: culture, history, sites and landscapes. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our itineraries and activities with the help of our local partners to ensure that you have unforgettable moments during your stay in Portugal.

 

Do the guides accompany you inside the monuments?
No, the guides are professionals who accompany national or foreign tourists in a light vehicle with a maximum capacity of eight passengers, driving the vehicle and providing historical, cultural and general information during the trip, leaving the client free to explore the monument as they wish. 

 

Is MoonShadow Tours a legally registered and recognised company?
We are registered and certified by ‘Turismo de Portugal’ under number 164/2016. This registration can be checked at any time on the ‘Turismo de Portugal’ website.

 

 

None of the published tours meet my needs. What are my options?
If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, get in touch by email and we can create a customised tour just for you and your group.

 

Do you do customised tours for large groups for more than one day, according to my preferences for itinerary, activities and accommodation?
Yes, we can organise a package through various towns and cities in Portugal, just be aware that accommodation is the responsibility of the client, our licence does not allow us to book or charge for accommodation. We only organise the itinerary, all you have to do is let us know at least two months in advance what you want and we will certainly exceed your expectations.

 

 

 

I'd like to book a tour, but we have 10 people in our group. Is that possible?
Yes, of course. The maximum of 8 is mentioned because this is the maximum capacity of our vehicles. In such cases, and to ensure maximum comfort and attention, we will use 2 vans. Send us an e-mail with your requirements and we'll send you our prices.

 

 

What is the minimum age to take part in a tour?
There is no minimum age limit, however, for children under 12, we ask that you inform us of their age when booking so that we can provide the necessary safety equipment in accordance with local legislation, guaranteeing maximum safety.

 

What should I wear?
This depends on the climate in your country of origin. In Portugal, there is some difference in temperature between Lisbon and Porto, where it is generally colder. Temperatures south of Lisbon (Alentejo and Algarve) are generally even higher. In general, we advise you to wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring some protection against the rain. If you visit between November and March, be prepared for lower temperatures (minimum 8 to 11ºC). Don't forget that Portugal has 850 kilometres of coastline, so bring your swimsuit.
